A More Personal Way to Diagnose Your Camera
Each camera tells a story, and understanding its subtle signs is key to effective diagnosis. I take the time to carefully assess every component, respecting the unique mechanics of your vintage or modern equipment. This detailed approach ensures a clear path forward for repair or maintenance.
This service suits photographers who value accuracy and a thoughtful evaluation before committing to repairs. Whether your camera is showing faint glitches or no longer functions, I provide a thorough examination tailored to your gear.

Camera Body Diagnosis fee – $20
I go over your camera with a fine-tooth comb and return to you with an estimate of which path we should take with your gear.

Lens Diagnosis fee – $15
Having focusing issues? Excessive dust/mildew issues?
I have you covered. An estimate is written after completing the diagnosis. Most lens costs are on a case-by-case basis, as most lens issues are unique to that lens.

CLA (Clean, Lubricate, and Adjust) without significant disassembly starts at $45**
**Pentaprism and focus screen dusting, or de-molding starts at +$25
Light seal and mirror cushion foam replacement starts at +$20
Leatherette replacement is offered, but the price is individual to the camera body.
Electrical component replacement/circuitry rebuilding – this is individual from camera body to camera body. The price will be reflected in the estimate if service is needed.

Shutter speed test included with services.
Shutter speed or drag adjustments are also on a case-by-case basis. These may be included with other services.

Discounts for multiple cameras can be applied.

Send me your gear! (You cover shipping to me; I cover return costs.)

I will perform a full diagnosis and seek approval for the work to be performed, and then complete the work.

After the work is completed and payment clears, I send you back your camera – clean and ready to work for you.

Status updates are free, and proof that your gear is having a good spa day is provided upon request!
